New Year

First of all let me wish a very Happy New Year to all my friends ...New Year and a new start..well i dint take any resolutions this time..infact never tot of it....There is a superstition that (atleast in my place) u tend to continue to do the things u do on New Year day and so generally people tend to avoid spending money ..If thats so,,then i cud be working all year long as i was working on Jan1.we had chicken biriyani at nite for a gud start and for the rest it was all the same. Had a potlock session on friday night with rak's colleagues and on sat, a old friend came over. She was our classmate and at first felt a little embarassed to greet her....Felt all collegelike and being caught redhanded with rak....he he but now things have changed...years have gone by and so have we.She has settled down here with a beautiful little girl Nandu......she was so cute and all her antics were admirable...at first i tried to make her address me as an elder sister but suddenly had a change of plates to an aunt....felt comfy in being called an aunt for the first time in my life. But the poor little thing cudnt sense the difference btwn an uncle and an aunt and kept calling both of us as uncles. A heavy meal followed by a hearty chat made us all cheery and we all set out to see Blenheim Palace..Even i was a first timer there. The palace was closed to public vehicles on that day and so we had to walk our way down there. We were trying hard to open the gates and had almost given up when a guy on a bike came up and opened the gates cooly and darted off into the palace grounds..Then we got it...the way we were handling the knob needed a twist :D.....the place was so beautiful and i cudnt help wondering why any king/royal blood would need so much of palace grounds.....anywise dey wud be either inside the palace or visiting guests or fighting enemies........why cudnt dey live in a small place? hmm Nandu wudnt let me continue on my pondering and she almost kept yelling "Dog" "Dog" on every mongrel that passed by.. Here the people treat their pets as their own kids and calling such an ungraceful name would highly motivate them to respond in an unpleasant way......we had a hard time covering her mouth.......Nandu was a unique kid in the sense that she never knew wen to stop eating and her parents had to plead with her really hard to make her stop..usually i have seen people doing the other way round..well if she were to be left on her own,she would continue until she threw up ...which in fact justifies her little physique.......at one point in time,Nandu got pissed off with me and shot me off in a RajniKant style....lucky that she is in UK and not US.it was -1.5 deg and none of us were dressed to the weather. So we cudnt make it into the palace and had to retreat half way through. From there we headed to the City Center and had a brief walkthrough until we landed in Nandoos..It is famous for its chicken along with its peri peri sauce and our friend wanted to taste it badly...So our dinner was done and finally we parted ways around 7 in the nite. Felt so happy to see an old face and to use the same "kewl" words of our college time....

Sunday was spent in shopping followed by a screening of Pirates of the Carribean-Part2 with Veeru at home.

Speaking of Pirates,my fav series wud be Matrix,Pirates,Father Of the Bride and Oceans..All kewl movies. Each pirate scene is so vivid and full of animation to feast to ur eyes on......Wonder when the fourth part is due...
